Description
Westchester trailway ride Hudson.
This is part of a suite of bike rides in Westchester. They’re designed for cyclists who want to start exploring the east bank of the Hudson. I advise also purchasing W01, W02, W03 to get a more complete picture of what’s easy to ride in southern Westchester. I think seeing all the rides will help give you both choice and context.
The trailway is car-free, a plus, but it can also get boring, a minus. There are few crossroads, a plus, but the pavement is lumpy in a few sectors, a minus.
Getting off the trailway exposes you to cars, but it also bring on more hills, and turns, and way more to look at.
One of my frustrations with downloading rides in areas I’m not familiar with is that I often feel like I’m in a trench and can’t see what’s on either side of me, creating a little anxiety if I get off track. By having these different rides and ride descriptions, you can see where you are both on the route and relative to other rides. The world is a bit more complete that way. By having multiple rides, you can also further explore the area and keep riding fresh.
