Description

The Tarrytown to NYC Ride is a route that offers a taste of riding in Westchester without taking too many chances.  It’s designed for cyclists who have already ridden themselves to Nyack, but have yet to make sense of the lands on the Westchester side of the Mario Cuomo Tappan Zee Bridge.  This ride is pretty simple overall, very peaceful, and a bit flatter than riding back to New York City from Nyack.

(if you haven’t ridden to Nyack already, you should.  We’ve got the ride here.)

No reason to get bored doing the same old same old.  Branch out.  See new places.  Keep the riding varied and fresh.

This is part of a suite of bike rides in Westchester.  They’re designed for cyclists who want to start exploring the east bank of the Hudson.  I advise also purchasing W01, W02, W03 to get a more complete picture of what’s easy to ride in southern Westchester.  I think seeing all the rides will help give you both choice and context.  One of my frustrations with downloading rides in areas I’m not familiar with is that I often feel like I’m in a trench and can’t see what’s on either side of me, creating a little anxiety if I get off track. By having these different rides and ride descriptions, you can see where you are both on the route and relative to other rides. The world is a bit more complete that way.   By having multiple rides, you can also further explore the area and keep riding fresh.
