Description
Bronx River Parkway Ride (for bike)
The Bronx River Parkway has been closed to cars (in favor of bicycles) on summer Sundays since 1974. It’s a nice way to ride through the heart of Westchester without a worry about car traffic. The ride turns around in White Plains, but if you have a yen for more, you can use this as a jumping off point to join up with several of the other Westchester rides (W01, W02, W03, W04–links below) that we’ve mapped, or ride across the Tappan Zee Bridge and ride the west bank of the Hudson home.
Typically, the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars from 10am-2pm on Sundays starting the first weekend of May and continuing through September. Check the up to date schedule here.
This ride routes you up to the BRP from Harlem, turns around in White Plains and brings you back a different way through Westchester and The Bronx.
